Japandi is minimalism that forgives humans. In doors, it is a short recipe followed strictly.
The door recipe
Handleless slab or finest-pitch fluted fronts; super-matte sheen exclusively; colours from mushroom, clay, moss and warm off-whites (RAL 7032, 7006, 6021 direction). Nothing shiny, nothing framed, nothing loud.
Texture as ornament
With decoration banned, texture carries all visual interest: one fluted bank against smooth runs, wood-slat open bay beside lacquer, paper-lantern light. Our pale-sage pinstripe fluting was practically minted for this brief.
The discipline
Integrated pulls only, appliances fully panelled, open shelving limited to one deliberate span with three objects. Japandi fails by addition — every extra hardware choice or colour breaks the spell.
