The Cabinet Punch List: A QA Walk That Takes Fifteen Minutes

JUNE 26, 2026  ◆  3 MIN READ
IN SHORT

Clients inspect kitchens at two heights: eye level for lines, hand level for feel. Walk both before they do.

Clients inspect kitchens at two heights: eye level for lines, hand level for feel. Walk both before they do.

Lines and light

Sight down every run for reveal consistency; rake a work light across faces to catch handling marks or dust nibs — daylight will find them later otherwise. Adjust hinges now, note any finish flaw for touch-up before furniture arrives.

Feel and function

Cycle every door and drawer: damper catch, no rub, latch engagement on handleless. Torque handles (loose handles read as cheap), peel protective films fully — edges left behind bake on.

The handover artefacts

Care card on the counter, touch-up kit in the sink cabinet, hinge screwdriver gifted, batch colour noted in the client email. This paragraph is why our contractors' review scores mention 'thorough'.

Frequently asked

What do clients notice first?

Uneven gaps and one sagging door — both are five-minute hinge adjustments caught by the sight-line walk.

Do you support post-install touch-ups?

Batch-matched kits ship with orders; local respray support is available for anything beyond pen-level.
