Inside the Touch-Up Kit: Using Batch-Matched Colour Like a Pro

IN SHORT

The kit that ships with a kitchen is insurance in a box — but only used correctly. Order of operations is everything.

The kit that ships with a kitchen is insurance in a box — but only used correctly. Order of operations is everything.

What is inside

A fine-tip pen in the exact production batch colour, a small pot of the same for larger fills, clear topcoat in your sheen, filler sticks for deep chips, and micro applicators. Batch-matched means invisible; shelf colour 'close enough' never is.

Order of operations

Clean and degrease, fill deep damage and level flush, colour with pen or pot in thin passes, then one thin sheen topcoat once colour is dry. Rushing coats is the only way to fail.

Storage for the long haul

Tighten lids fully, store cool and dark (not the garage), invert the pen monthly if remembered. Note the RAL and batch on the box — reorders match forever from that line.

Frequently asked

How long does a touch-up kit last?

Sealed properly, 5–7 years; reorders in the same batch colour are always available.

The pen colour looks darker wet — normal?

Yes — judge after full dry and topcoat; wet lacquer reads darker than cured.
